Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2021

Did you know that 1 out of 7 people are neurodiverse! But what is neurodiversity?

the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioural traits, regarded as part of normal variation in the human population.’

Throughout my career I have seen many misdiagnoses of anxiety, depression or even bi-polar, when someone is actually neurodiverse. It continues to go unnoticed and this week we are shouting how everyone should be looking a little deeper into what neurodiversity means, how it can go unnoticed and how we can celebrate it’s pure awesomeness!

As a Counsellor I support many neurodiverse adults and children and I need to ensure that see ‘presenting difficulties’ and look beyond to see if they are ‘symptoms‘.

Here is a selection of informative visuals to help with understanding and appreciatio.

Lets celebrate differences and individualism!
