“Children don’t know how to ask for what they don’t know they need. Their asking comes in the form of behaviour.” ~ Bonnie Harris
Qualified in 2007 and running a busy private practice, I have also been a school counsellor for many years. Person-centred trained with additional qualifications in cognitive behaviour therapy, gestalt and the use of creative and play methods, I am integrative in my approach.
Accredited with both the BACP and NCPS. MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy and two Level 3 Diploma's in supporting children and young people, one including supporting in schools.
I write my own risk assessments and policies in correlation to the school's own P&Ps while taking into account the students' needs. I enjoy working in schools to help children I would not normally meet outside of the school system.
I am very engaging, and I am told I am easy to talk to and that counselling with me has been different to previous counselling and more successful.
I am able to work with the school to help with assessments and referrals for ASC and ADHD. However, all of my work with the students is confidential and is a protected space for them.
Due to my practice being very busy, I do not offer individual sessions, but I do offer either half a day or a full day, which would be agreed at either medium or long-term on a set day(s). Full day £150. Half day £75.
Safeguarding level 3 trained and enhanced DBS - both continuously updated since 2000. Over 100 additional specialist training certificates
