Supervision

As of April 2025 I will undertaking supervision training to become a clinical supervisor, both face-to-face and online. â€‹â€‹

Who and When?

It is estimated that I will be welcoming supervisees in June 2025.

While I am in training, I will be asking for qualified UK counsellors who work with people over 18. This may change once I am qualified; however, because of the demands of the PhD, it is unlikely.

I will be offering supervision on Thursdays only, either face-to-face or online. The time slots will be as follows:

       10 am

       12 noon

       2.30 pm

I have opened my waiting list. I already have a few people waiting, but currently still have six places remaining. If you are interested please drop me an email here

Supervision is crucial in counselling because it enhances professional development, ensures ethical and effective practice, and supports the counsellor's well-being, ultimately benefiting both the counsellor and the client- NCPS

Why me?

I have over 18 years experience as a counsellor. I am currently a PhD student researching counselling and psychotherapy. I am a published researcher into the experiences of Autistic Counsellors here in the UK https://doi.org/10.1002/capr.12839. I have also self-published my pieces on being a AuDHD counsellor working in schools (here), and a reflexive piece on whether ADHD needs to be recognised in the counselling room (here).

I have an MA, BSc, and Level 4 Diploma all in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Parallel to being a counsellor, I also have over 20 years experience working with children and young people therapeutically within the care sector, including management and supervisory roles. So I am not new to being a supervisor, and I have experience as a psychotherapist, so finally it feels natural to combine the two. â€‹

I am autistic and have ADHD (combined). I work mostly with autistic and ADHD clients, but due to my training, I am trained in supporting allistic clients. And so, I have professional experience and lived experience supporting neurodiversity in the counselling room, including the recognition and undoing of internalised ableism and understanding the comorbid symptoms associated with surviving a society developed for the neuronormative.

I am person-centred at my core, with additional training in CBT, inner child and creative work, IFS, DBT and a lot of knowledge on autism and ADHD, and support of the coexisting symptoms, e.g, disorganised eating, self-injury, OCD, anxiety, depression, burnout, self-esteem, sexual assault and self-identity. LGBTQIA+ safe space and trans allied,

I am senior accredited with the NCPS, and I have applied for senior accreditation with the BACP (awaiting feedback).

Fees - I can envisage that there will be a fee -but it will be minimal. This will be decided, once appropriateness of cost has been discussed.
