'We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed' - Carl Rogers

When we are not ourselves anymore, changed by others' wants and wishes or by traumatic experiences we continue to hold; we can become depressed, anxious, angry, or engulfed in overwhelming emotions we don’t understand. This changes us until we are left... well, here, just wanting to understand and be true to ourselves.

I'm a person-centred counsellor as well as an AuDHD person. As an Autistic psychotherapist, I utilise psychoeducation and counselling techniques through a neuroaffirmative lens, to help you explore and celebrate your differences in a safe place with someone who understands.

I have additional training in CBT, DBT, Gestalt, and creative methods and integrate them fluidly to help you explore who you truly are away from social expectations. I aim to support you in reflecting upon and undoing all the internalised messages that you have learnt through trying to 'fit in'. Through talking, you will recognise who you are and who you want to be and begin to separate them from who you feel you are expected to be.

There is a major difference between masking out of choice and masking unconsciously for survival.

'When you are in psychological distress and someone really hears you without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good!Carl Rogers, psychologist and pioneer of the Person-Centred approach.
