Who am I?

I am an individual like you. I am different. I am neurodivergent and I have lived through my own experiences and I have been where you are. I have been through my own therapeutic journey, training and experience and I have learnt. 

My Core Counselling Qualifications

I began my Counselling training back in 2003

-Level 2 in Counselling Skills

-Level 3 in Counselling Practice 

-Level 4 in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy 

-Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Counselling Practice and Theory

-Batchelor of Science (BSc) First Class Honors Degree in Counselling

-Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling and Psychotherapy

My Parallel Career

Over the last 22 years, adjacent to my counselling roles, I have chosen to have a diverse career working in different environments, to enable me to support adults, young people and families from different backgrounds. Throughout this career I have progressed to management and have gained qualification in every different sector, including an extensive portfolio of specialist training.

-Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People

-Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Children in Schools

These include:​​​

  • Adults who had suffered childhood sexual abuse and exploitation

  • Children aged 6-18 who needed emergency accommodation

  • Children aged 8-18 who had suffered sexual abuse

  • Individuals aged 8-25 with significant learning and physical challenges

  • Males aged 11-21 who exhibit sexually harmful behaviours.

  • Looked after Children aged between 5-21

  • Children aged 11-18 who had experienced, and were experiencing, being sexually exploited.

  • Adults with a diagnosis or traits of Borderline Personality Disorder/EUPD

  • Young people aged 13-18 from psychiatric hospitals who needed specialist support to integrate back into society

  • Secondary school children (11-16) in a mainstream school. SEND requirements and emotional and behavioural needs

  • Schedule one offenders aged 13+

  • Young women and Adults aged 14+ who were detained in psychiatric hospitals

 

My enhanced DBS and safeguarding training requirements have been continuously updated throughout my career and are both not due to expire until 2024 

My specialities (but not exclusively), are:

Gender identity and sexuality

Abuse. Including historical.

Within our first telephone contact, we will explore what you would like to gain from Counselling and explore whether we both feel we are a good fit for each other.
